Narragansett Brewery is offering a commemorative beer this weekend to honor the late President Jimmy Carter and his impact on the craft-brewing industry.
The company says Carter signed legislation legalizing home brewing in 1978, and that led to a booming craft beer industry.
According to the Brewers Association, the U.S. craft beer industry supported hundreds of thousands of jobs in 2024 and contributed billions to the economy.
Starting Friday Narragansett Brewery will have "Peanut Farmer Porter" on tap, referencing Jimmy Carter's time as a peanut farmer in Georgia.
