The President of the Springfield City Council is laying out what he wants to accomplish this year.
Mike Fenton says the council wants to improve the availability of affordable housing, as the city has faced challenges finding appropriate units.
The housing issue has been a thorn in the side of Springfield for years. Progress has been made, but Fenton says a lot more needs to be done.
Fenton added that the council is always looking out for ways to upgrade public safety and economic development.
