Seven-year-old Tinotenda Pudu wandered away from his rural home in Zimbabwe on December 27th. He ended up walking 30 miles into a dangerous game park.
He survived by eating wild fruits and digging holes along a dry riverbank to find drinking water. Tinotenda slept on rocky perches, surrounded by lions and elephants in the unforgiving terrain. His parents knew it would be a miracle if he survived 1 night in the jungle and kept praying for his safety.
A massive search operation with hundreds of people began and his footprints were discovered on day four of the ordeal. The following day, rescuers found Tinotenda!
Zimbabwean MP Mutsa Murombedzi corrected the original reports that he was 8 and said the boy’s survival was "a true miracle".
His parents thanked all involved and went on to say; "Above all, we thank God for watching over Tinotenda and leading him back home safely. This is a testament to the power of unity, hope, prayer and never giving up."
