Buccaneers Beat Saints To Win NFC South

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-7) defeated the New Orleans Saints (5-12) 27-19 on Sunday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium. The Buccaneers are now the champions in the NFC South for the fourth straight year, and have qualified for the postseason for the fifth straight year.

The Buccaneers trailed 16-6 at halftime and didn't take the lead until the fourth quarter when Jalen McMillan grabbed a 32-yard touchdown to take a 20-19 lead. Bucky Irving ran in the score that clinched the game with 1:51 to go to make it 27-19.

After that score, the Buccaneers defense held on to get the offense on the field one more time with an eight-point lead. The only play they ran was a nine-yard pass to wide receiver Mike Evans to put him at 1004 yards on the season. He has now had 1000-yard seasons in each of his first eleven seasons, tying Jerry Rice for the most consecutive 1000-yard seasons in history.

The Buccaneers now will have a home game in the first round of the 2024-2025 playoffs next weekend.
