Man Arrested For Deadly SW Houston Road Rage Shooting Was Out On Bond

A man arrested for allegedly killing another man earlier this month in a road rage shooting was out on bond from a previous road rage incident.

Police say Carlos Chavez, 28, has now been charged with felony murder and was taken into custody Friday evening for the shooting death of a Houston-area father, 23-year-old Jadrian Edwards, who was in his car while his young daughter was in the back seat. The shooting happened Nov. 7 in the Alief area of southwest Houston. Edwards was found dead inside the car in a bank parking lot. His young daughter was not hurt.

Investigators were able to obtain footage of the shooting that linked Chavez as the suspect. Prosecutors have now filed for him to be held without bond.

Records show that Chavez was out on bond for a road rage shooting from 2023 that left a driver injured.

Chavez is expected to appear in court Monday morning.
