It was a pretty busy weekend that started with me bolting out of the studio at 10am, getting home at 11am - and jumping in the car headed to Scituate MA for a wedding. One of Tyler's lifelong best friends got married and we were all really looking forward to it!
We had blast and it was a really beautiful wedding! GREAT band that had the place jumping from moment 1! Pretty sure I blew my voice out singing so much! haha -
The only problem with the night - is that we drove home after the party, which put us getting in at about 1am! Normally- no big deal - but I had been doing strong since 3am the day before! WHOAH! That made for a VERY chill Saturday - hahah!
I pretty much hung out, worked on photos I hadn't gotten to yet- like this one from New Castle NH -
That was from a pretty cool but quiet morning last month. The month has been so busy I had to go back to look at the photos I never got to look at!
We DID get out and picked some blueberries and peaches at our favorite local farm - Butternut Farms in Farmington. We've been going there since the kids were little and have become good friends with the owner Gif Burnap - who's done an amazing job with the place!
The picking was good!

That made Sunday breakfast a slam dunk -
Valerie CRUSHED the blueberry muffins- put a hint of lemon zest in them and they were awesome!
I did get out with the camera on Sunday- the first time since Alaska - and it felt good. The sky was pretty flat so I avoided the coast and headed to the Suncook Valley Balloon Rally. I've shot it many times- so I tried to do something different this time around. The wind wasn't cooperating so the pilots had just fly up and off with only a couple touching down in the nearby river. But- they flew over it and that was what I was looking for. Instead of just photographing the balloons normally- i watched for their reflections in the water below. Heres what I did -
I wanted a kind of impressionistic, artsy style - so i shot the reflection (which was upside down in my camera) - and flipped the image when I got home so it looks like this-
I know. Looks like I was high when I shot it, but thats what i went for. Thats just one of the ones I did. Here's a couple regular shots from inside the balloons
But the strangest part of the morning was when i went over to the river and saw this-
What the hell? An old fashioned ASTRONAUT was in THE RIVER!! She was taking photos that looked like selfies - waste deep in water! It was surreal! Found out later she is an artist and does this all the time with with that suit on- doing all kinds of things. It's her thing- and I have to say - I FRIGGIN LOVED it! So cool - and kind of creepy to see!
It was a fun morning - but I was home by 9am - because....well, the blueberry muffins were still warm!
