My Weekend: Concerts, Brews, The Cape (Porpoise) & a Near Death Experience

Shit, man. Driving home on Friday I almost died.

That's how my weekend started.

Now, to be fair- I had no medical issues at all, but I DID have to follow a LOGGING TRUCK for about 4 miles, and THAT'S AS CLOSE TO DEATH AS I WANT TO GET!

Dude- I saw FINAL DESTINATION 2!!! I can't stand being behind those trucks (no offense to the drivers, because they got nothing to do with it- this is pure ANGEL OF DEATH STUFF). Everytime I pull behind one, I feel like I should just pull over and get off the road because all I can see is the posts on that truck, or the chains holding the logs in place all let go - and the next thing you know - my head is in the friggin TRUNK man - on the end of what used to be a pine tree. NO THANKS. NOPE. NOPE, ANDDDDDD....NOPE.

But anyway- I survived. Whew.....

On Friday night Valere and I and Cait & Bri headed up to see Alison Krauss and Union Station -

I, and we, have loved Alison Krauss for a long time. Such a pure voice that just feels unmatched by anyone. The weather was perfect for an outdoor show- but by the end it was getting a bit cool -

which only makes you happy to get back in your car and get warm! Great show, great time - but I do have one question -

SEVEN BUCKS FOR A CAN OF WATER??? Gtfo! I know Liquid Death is cool because it's in a can -but man - its still only water! Keep the cool, and lower the friggin price man! <grin - scotty's gonna hate that...>

Got home just before midnight and I was up at 4:30am headed for The Cape.

Well, Cape Porpoise Maine, that is. It's one of my favorite spots - heres a few from what i got with the camera -

And got lucky when the sun came up -

Beautiful area - and one of my favorite harbors in New England.

Saturday afternoon after getting the yard stuff, and pool closing stuff done- our Brew Crew- Valerie and I along with our friends Gary and Lorraine headed to Smuttynose Brewery in Hampton -

I got the Blueberry Beer and it was awesome-

And when we walk in - who's there but Tyler and Morgan - and it turned into a party!

On Sunday - I put the finishing touches on closing up the pool -

She served us well this summer.....thank you, Pool! I had to pay my respects-

Couple random notes-

Went into a store in Kennebunk/Kennebunkport store to grab a cup of coffee- and saw they had Autumn Buzz Ale in stock!

And while Im thanking folks- a shout out to my friend Josh Tuohy of the SALT HILL PUB in Lebanon NH! Stopped in for an awesome burger on Thursday after our Brew Tour stop a Beverage King! I've always been a huge fan of SHP - great place for dinner, lunch, or to hang and have a beer!

Josh even pointed out that menu I had signed a very long time ago still hangs on the wall there! Haha- Im right between NH author Jodi Picoult, and former President Clinton!

Kinda funny!

Lastly- Im too pissed off to talk about the Patriots, so lets just pretend they had a bye week. Ugh.
