Busy weekend for us! The weather looked really good - not the friggin 90 degree+ temps we've had for the last month (it seems!) - so we wanted to take advantage of it!
We got after it on Friday night with the 72nd stop on the "Brew Tour" we started about a year and a half ago, and this time it was a place we have visited before that we really liked!
Great Rhythm Brewing Co is in Portsmouth and the beer is good, and and the vibe is great as well! They've got a great outdoor seating area along the creek that's a really peaceful place to hang! You can bring your own food too - so since our friends Gary and Lorraine had smoked some salmon, that's what we had whilst we enjoyed our beers! And YES - I used the word "whilst". haha -
These Friday nights have been a blast to do, and 99% of the places we've been to have been awesome with great folks, beer and food! Loved Great Rhythm!
The Brew Tour never stops me from getting out early on Saturday if I have an opportunity to grab the camera and go shooting! The intent was to get out to New Castle NH and maybe grab a couple shots of the Tall Ships that were in this weekend. They were docked at the Coast Guard Station there - which limited greatly the angles I could shoot from. But- I grabbed this shot -

I loved the century old ships in the foreground with the more modern fishing vessel behind them. It was two parts of New Englands rich maritime history passing by each other.
15 minutes before that shot, I was at nearby Portsmouth Harbor Light and got this -

and this one in Portsmouth before the sunrise -

The calm water made for an excellent day to photograph the river because it was like glass-

See what I mean? I LOVE that shot of the skiff!
Later we headed out to our favorite farm - Butternut Farm in Farmington/Rochester. We've been going there since before the kids were born and it's blueberry picking time, so we got after it!
And this is our friend Gif Burnap, who owns the place! GREAT guy who's done an amazing job with the farm! (Don't forget- please support your local farms! Buy direct from them if you can!)
Oh, and if you go to Butternut- TRY THE HARD CIDER!!!
Sunday morning we took Daisy for her first walk on the beach. Dogs are only allowed on the beach until 8am- so we made it a sunrise walk and she loved it!
Here's a quick video for ya-
She's still a little nervous around water, but she is warming up to it!!
Since we were up early- we surprised my parents at their favorite breakfast place in Berwick ME -
And here's a recommendation for ya- Jake Gyllenhall stars in the remake of the movie "PRESUMED INNOCENT" on Apple+. They made this as a series, and it's very good. I saw the movie too - and this was as good as, if not better than the Harrison Ford movie!
We ended the weekend with meeting up with Cait, Tyler and his girlfriend Morgan to grab a drink and take the 2 hr sunset cruise on the M/V Thomas Laighton out of Portsmouth!
We hit Lazy Jacks, and then headed over for a cruise with a spectacular sunset and incredible views the whole way! It was a great end to the weekend!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
