The weekend for me started at 10:06am when I split from work and headed north.
I always try to get out as much as possible with the camera in the first two weeks of October because the color is so awesome, and right now -the color is way up north. I headed to a place in Campton NH first, so I could check out a stand of birch trees that's gotten to be pretty well known -

White Birch trees rarely grow straight up - which makes this stand of birches so cool to see!
I've shot it once before in early spring, before the color came back to the trees, so I went with a black and white image of it. This time- the colors were there-
Also cruised up through Sugar Hill because some of the backroads are just gorgeous!

Friday night was a chill night at home, and that extended through all of Saturday day as well! (WHOO HOOO!)
I figured- why not? It's gonna rain all day, why not just chill at home? Funny thing was- the weather folks were wrong again and there were only a couple short showers during the day! Regardless - I got some photo and video work done while we watched movies- so I got no complaints.
Saturday night we headed to Concord NH to see our friend Adam Ezra and the Adam Ezra Group. Adam lost a good friend and former bandmate on Friday, so Valerie and I wanted to show our support for Adam and the band, and they put on another great show! If you've never seen Adam with his band- they are a KILLER BAND! See them!
Sunday I was up early again and headed way north - up to Errol, Stark and into Guildhall VT-
Heres a few shots I got -
First up, this one is from Groveton NH, along my way from Stark NH to Guildhall VT. The clouds were lingering but the color was pretty good -

Next was this covered bridge in Lunenberg NH

And through Stark NH - it's pretty much a law that says you have to shoot a photo near the Stark Inn -

And on to the famous Grist Mill in Guildhall VT -
Looks like I was a week too late getting here, though. The leaves on the tree behind the mill were all down on the ground...
GRRRRrrrrrrr.

Got home about 1pm - just in time to have the Patriots ruin my afternoon.
Man - that was a tough pill to swallow. Haven't seen them suck that bad in a very long time.
Can't wait to see what Chatham has to say about it.
And I'll leave you with this- a video from my camping trip last week.
How would you handle this?
Doesn't phase me much- but I know Kelly would hate it -
Check out friendly (and quick) this spider was. Pretty sure he was going to crawl in my ear and lay eggs in my brain -
Hope you had a good weekend!
