Well, I got to see The Sandman......
Valerie and I went to see Adam Sandler at SNHU Arena - and all I will say is - it far exceeded what I expected. I mean - I'm a fan (although not of every movie he's made) but I wasn't sure what to expect from his standup show (which I had never seen before)
And for the record- there was a strict "NO PHOTOS DURING THE PERFORMANCE" rules- so I have no pics of Adam or his special guest Rob Schnieder. This photo -
Came from Sandlers Instagram page.
My only pic was this one-
But more on the Sandler show in another post - I'll give you a full review.
I will say though- going out to eat in a restaurant is becoming a PAIN IN THE ASS.
And I don't blame the restaurants- so please know that. I understand that they can't find anyone to work - ANYWHERE- and that affects how many people they can handle. I get it. But it's gotten so bad - that you can't even walk into a casual restaurant without waiting 2 hours, or getting refused outright ("So sorry- we arent taking any new customers because we'll be full till 9"). Ugh. I'm not talking fine dining either- Im talking regular casual places you could always walk into and get a table. It sucks, man. We got refused at two places on Saturday night for those reasons. The staffs were very apologetic and nice- they KNOW it sucks, so you just say ok, and keep movin on down the road.
I don't know if it's because of Covid, or that people just walked from the restaurant industry because they got sick of taking peoples shit, or the hours and pay sucked - no idea. But man, I miss how it was 3 years ago when you didn't have to make reservations two weeks out to go to a rib place. Ugh...
Anyway- once we got a seat at a bar- who's hovering over me all night?
JIMMY DUNN!!! Jimmy was the guest on the Charlie Moore show - and he was in my face for an hour!!! hahah
On the home front, do you know what yesterday was?
Stuffed pumpkin day!
Although- this one came with fireworks, of sorts!
So - Valerie had to go out yesterday so she got everything ready and Cait and I put it in the oven. But after Cait put it in - she heard a crackling noise so she asked about it. I asked- "did you add water?" - she said "No". I said- well you gotta add water too it". She replied - "It won't explode on me will it?" - I said "Noooo...".
2 seconds later, she added water and I heard a loud POP!!!
The Pyrex dish it was in basically imploded. The pumpkin was fine, and the glass was actually sitting on was fine too - but the rest of it shattered. In the friggin stove.
So we pulled and inspected the pumpkin - then cleaned out the stove -
INCREDIBLE, right? I mean - I think the water Cait put in might not have been hot enough and the temp difference shattered the glass- but it had only been in the oven for a matter of minutes, so who knows!
Anyway - the pumpkin was delicious (see the other post on my page for the recipe),
Oh, and I did get out on Saturday morning. The sunrise sucked but I got lucky and found some fog in York Harbor...
And just as I was about to shoot this small boat in the harbor - two ducks (or geese) came out of nowhere and flew into the shot just as I hit the shutter button. Perfect timing!
