It's Time to Acknowledge: ADAM SANDLER Is An Excellent Actor

Ok - it's time for everyone to stand up and ADMIT - that Adam Sandler - the man who gave us "The Water Boy", "Little Nicky" and "Hubie Halloween" - IS - in FACT-

An excellent actor.

I can hear some of you (like Kelly Brown") groan at the comment - but YOU - my friends, are the ones that are off base.

Have you not been paying attention?

True- the man has made some comedies that some consider dumb, and that MAY be true in some cases! I couldn't stand "Little Nicky", or "The Waterboy" - mainly because the ridiculous voices he used drove me nuts! But- some other movies like "Grandma's Boy" or "Grown Ups", "Happy Gilmore", "Mr Deeds", or "Billy Madison" - were actually pretty funny! But I will concede however, that if you are not paying attention, or have written Adams stuff off - then you're missing some of the best movies he's ever made!

Some people hate it when a comedic actor/actress goes serious because THEY - the viewer- can't handle it. But thats on THEM - not the actor. People bitched about Jim Carrey and Robin Williams when they did serious roles! And are you going to seriously tell me that Robin Williams WASN'T brilliant in "Good Will Hunting"? Or that Carrey wasnt awesome in "Man on the Moon"?

That's my point with Sandler. Have you SEEN - "HUSTLE" on Netflix?

It's VERY good- and Sandler is excellent in it! If you watch this movie and don't think that this guy is at least a VERY GOOD actor- then your head is buried well past your taint.

I will also submit to you:

Uncut Gems

Reign Over Me

Spanglish

Sandy Wexler

or Punch Drunk Love.

It just kills me that people won't admit that this guy has CHOPS.

Yes, he makes silly movies - and guess what? He's become a BILLIONAIRE doing it! But he's also tried serious roles- and if you took the time to watch em - you'd see what Im talking about.

The guy is the perfect every man when he's playing it serious. He's the guy who isn't comfortable in his own skin and carries that awkwardness into everything he does (Punch Drunk Love). He's the guy trying to act like he's got everything in his life under control - when it reality- he's about to explode (Spangish). He's the guy so crushed by tragedy he's retreated into his own headspace because it's the only place he can go to not face the horrible truth of his life (Reign Over Me), or he's the guy who's labored for a sport he loves only to have his dreams just out of his reach for his entire life (Hustle).

Those aren't stupid comedies - and in ALL of them Sandler delivers.

I don't give a s*** if some folks call me crazy- Im just telling it like I see it. I think its about time Sandler gets some respect for his acting - even if he doesn't care if you give it to him or not. I care. I don't know why...hahah - but I do. I just admire the guys ability to play both sides of the street, and to hell what others may think. That just makes me like him more. And lets be clear- there are some movies he's done that I can't stand- BUT - that doesn't mean the guy isn't an excellent actor.

Hell, I can't STAND Johnny Depp. Never could. But- you'll never hear me say he's not a great actor!

So here I am - standing up for a guy from the Granite State who - although one of the most successful people in Hollwood - STILL doesn't get the credit he deserves for his acting in serious roles.

Until now.

I got your back, Sandman.

You're crushing it, brother.

PS. and while I did "submit it for your approval" - you're still wrong if you disagree.
