Ever See a Snowy Owl?

Over the last several years, Snowy Owls have been seen more and more in places around NH/ME. The migrate south to find food, and they attract a lot of attention.

They're beautiful birds that are kind of playful. It sometimes seems like they perform for you if you're lucky enough to see them, and watch them for a bit.

This past Sunday I went down to Plum Island to photograph some of the boardwalks in the dense fog - and immediately saw this Snowy right after the park entrance.

Now - Snowy's attract crowds, and Im not a big fan of that. I don't want to be part of a large group of people watching and stalking a bird or wild animal. There's always some idiot who tries to get to close, or disturbs the animal because they don't have any common sense when it comes to wildlife. So - I don't look for them or track them. If I get lucky and see one - that's awesome. And thats what happened on Sunday. I stood with about 4 other photographers and watched this little guy for about an hour or so, and he finally flew. I was using at 600mm lens to get these- so we werent real close to it.... but here's what I got -
