It's been a long time since I went to a live show. Actually, it's been about a year! But the long Covid drought is over- and Valerie and I got to take in shows by a couple friends this weekend - and it was AWESOME!
First, was the ADAM EZRA GROUP show at Tupelo Music Hall on Friday night! It was a drive in show, and the rain stopped just in time, and the sun came out for the show!
The band was digging it, and it was the first of their three shows there!
It was so cool to be part of an audience again! You know - everybody just relaxing, getting in the music, chatting with friends and making new ones! I've been looking forward to getting back to concerts, big time- and the weekend didn't disappoint.
One of the great things about an ADAM EZRA show is the fans. The "Gatherers" are about the friendliest groups of fans I've ever encountered with an artist! It was fun to meet and hang with em at the show!
Stopped in for a little pre-show dinner before our Saturday night show- so we hit La Caretta! Great Mexican food in Manchester!
Then it was over to The Palace to see my buddy Scott Spradling and his band. What a fun night - and the big band was kicking on everything from The Big Bad Voodoo Daddys, Stevie Wonder, and Bruno Mars, to Chicago, Sinatra, Journey and more! I'm not just saying this because he's a friend- but if you ever get a chance to see THE SCOTT SPRADLING BAND- take it! You won't regret it!
Got in just before midnight on Saturday night, and was back out at 4am to shoot the sunrise. Originally the plan was to hit Portland, but the forecast changed and the sky was flat pretty much everywhere, so I kept it pretty local. But even on a day when mother nature doesn't give you much - you can always find something!

Met my parents for breakfast after that and watched my Dad pull into the parking lot. I love my Dad, but he's now of the age where certain things don't seem as big a deal to him as they once did.
Like- parking, for example. He doesn't really get wound up about it. And by that I mean - his whole attitude is - "CLOSE ENOUGH"!
Case in point:
I said "Dad- you're crooked!" His response:
"CLOSE ENOUGH!!"
Haha- I had to laugh. That's just how Arnie rolls in 2021. Its kind of his way of saying "We Got Through Covid, Who Gives a S*** About Parking Lines?" -
Gotta love Arnie.
