On July 13th, 1985 - The Biggest Rock Concert the world had ever seen took place. It was called "Live Aid", and it was a fundraiser to help feed starving children in Africa. It was held on 2 continents: one show at Wembly Arena in London, and the other at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia.
EVERYBODY played it. Zeppelin, The Who, Jagger, U2. Sting, Clapton, Queen, and the list goes on and on.
The live simulcast on MTV garnered over 1.9 BILLION people. It was the greatest day of live music ever assembled.
The radio station where I worked then (and still do), WHEB aired the concert all afternoon and I was the guy who "ran the board". I'll never forget it. Bryan Adams kicked of the set from America- and it took off from there.
75 acts appeared on the bill. See the ENTIRE list - HERE.

If you've seen the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody", you know how good Queen was that day, if not- check out the performance...
And one of my favorite performances of the day was from U2.....
It was a pretty cool day to watch, here, and even if in the smallest way - be a part of.
And once again music affected the lives of millions.
