Here's the video as it was presented by Jay Glazer on FOX (yeah, he's the same dude that broke the Spygate story the first time around...)
Now there's a couple of things that bug me here -
The first I notice, is the smug smile on Glazer's face when they credit him for breaking Spygate. Ugh. I'll fully admit that the guy is an NFL insider for sure - but wipe that shit eating smile off your puss.
I have to agree with Terry Bradshaw and Jimmy Johnson here that there is no way in hell that Belichick would ever be that stupid to have anyone on his team doing this kind of thing after what he's been through. Absolutely not. Yet Patriot haters will have a different view, as you'd expect.
But they're wrong.
Having said that - I will certainly admit that the abject stupidity of KSP (Kraft Sports Productions) recording ANYTHING like this during a game or practice. I mean, appearances alone damn this team - and THIS just makes it that much worse. The team was thrown right back into the distraction pit because someone wasn't aware of the rules. To make matters worse- is the question of WHY they'd ever be filming the sidelines at at - based on that the subject of the project is supposed to be, right?
The advance scout thats supposed to be the subject of the piece- never even appears in clip.
And the dude doing the recording (who has been suspended from his job) doesn't help himself with his frantic explanations and pleas to let him delete the footage. "I can delete it...I can delete it".....
That s*** doesn't look good. And at this level, and given what they've been through - this level of stupidity is INEXCUSABLE.
Call me a homer, but I believe Belichick was unaware. But I'll be honest- it IS very suspicious.
On the other side of the coin - is the fact that it's absolutely ludicrous to think that IF the intent was to film the sidelines- that they'd ever do it FROM THE PRESS BOX, right in front of everybody including NFL folks!
Bottom line is I believe Bill had no idea about it. I also believe that someone at KSP is an idiot for NOT making sure every employee that works with a camera doesnt know the rules. ESPECIALLY a guy who's done it for 18 years or so.
And what sucks is - that in todays media world - this story isn't going away, and it's going to be a another stain on our team - regardless of intent or innocence.
