Some Bald Eagle Photos I Shot This Weekend

Left home at 4am on Saturday morning - hoping to shoot a good sunrise. Once again, however, Mother Nature didn't see fit to gift me with one, so I called an audible. I did some shooting around the docks of Portland Maine, and then headed for an eagles nest to see what I could see. I was happy to find a male bald eagle, perched over a marsh....

He was majestic, just sitting there, looking down on the marsh for food. Then, he jumps off and flies down to land on the ground. He's there for a couple minutes - and suddenly a goose flies down to shoo him away (he was probably too close to her nest). Then the eagle jumps off the ground and flies at the goose- who high tails it out of there. There was a bit of a tussle between them, but in my excitement - I didn't get a clear enough of shot to share with  you of that. Damn! But here's one taken at about 200 yards - that shows the chase...

It was crazy to watch - and seeing that eagle made my day...
