Fullback James Develin Retires After 8 Seasons With Patriots

3 time Superbowl champion fullback James Develin announced his retirement via Twitter and Instagram Monday morning after 10 seasons in the NFL. The 31 year old full back played 8 of those 10 seasons with the Patriots and was a fixture on special teams and the power running game for the Patriots.

Develin says, "Due to unforeseen complications with the injury that ended my season last year, I've decided that it is in both my and my family's best interest to retire from the game of football."

A menace for opposing teams linebackers, Develin will be missed in the Patriots offense as the team builds around a quarterback not named Tom Brady for the first time in at least a decade (2008).
