Officials Warn of Unhealthy Air Quality Expected on the Seacoast

Today is a good day to stay indoors if you live on the Seacoast after the state has issued an air quality action day for Coastal Rockingham County. Unhealthy levels of ground level ozone, the main source of smog, along with fine particle pollution will combine off the ocean are expected to move out over the water in the late afternoon when the sea breeze picks up. The poor air quality can be attributed to vehicle and business emissions on the coast as well as large cities to the south (Boston) and West (Manchester and Concord).

Officials say those sensitive to pollution and young children should limit exercise outdoors and look for signs of tightness in the chest or wheezing.
