Hi there. How's it goin? Hope your weekend was a good one. Mine? Well it wasn't to shabby at all, thank you very much!
It started Friday night- with the resumption of the "Brew Tour" Valerie and I have been doing with our friend Gary and Lorraine.
I think we're up around 40 breweries visited so far (since this Spring), and on Friday night we hit up GREAT RHYTHM BREWING COMPANY in Portsmouth NH!
It's a very cool place, right along the creek in Portsmouth, and we had a blast there. It wasn't packed - so we had room to stretch out and relax. I had the Great Life Lager - and I thought it was one of the best beers I've had.
I've been asked a lot lately- "What's this with you and drinking all of a sudden? You never drank before!". Well, we went to a brewery one Friday night and I tried a beer, and we had a great time. Then we thought- "we should do this every Friday night!" - and so that's how it began! We hit a different place - have a couple, and maybe a bite to eat- and we're home by 10 (because most breweries aren't open late! WINNING! haha)!
I've said it many times- that I'm not really a beer guy, but I give em a try nonetheless while the others have at it. Normally, I try a beer and drink about half before giving up, but on rarer occasions, I drink an entire 20 oz beer. (and in one case- I had two!). The key, for me, is the aftertaste. That's one of the things I don't like about beer, so I tend to like beers that either have way less of an aftertaste, or none at all.
I've really liked beers from places like Corner Point Brewing in Berwick ME, Earth Eagle in Somersworth, Abel Ebenezer Brewing Co in Merrimack, and this week - Great Rhythm in Portsmouth!
Saturday morning, I was up early, headed out with the camera. The forecast sucked all weekend, but I still went out. The only pics I have from it were ones I did with my cell phone, because my computer is in the shop at the moment! But here's one of Nubble Light-
Meh. But- it's with a phone, so what do you expect!?
Saturday night, Valerie and I checked out the NH Theater Project's stage production of "It's a Wonderful Life"!
And here's the cool part- it was staged like it was an old time radio play! The actors acted it out like it was radio play from the 40's, complete with live commercials and sung jingles!
It was a smal theater and a small cast, but they really did a nice job with it! Well done to the NH Theater Project! (fyi- the show's run finished on Sunday- so if you want to see it, sorry, you're out of luck!)
On Sunday morning I was back out - and the weather was fairly warm, with a slight fog- so I stayed close to home in Portsmouth!

I ended the weekend by bringing my parents out to the Strafford Wind Symphony Christmas Concert in nearby Rochester NH. My Mom was digging it.
Speaking of "digging", I thought I caught my Mom "digging for nose gold", but apparently she was eating a chocolate chip cookie she got at the concession stand!!! hahah
Anyway- that's about it for me.
Is it just me, or do the weekends seem wayyyy shorter than they used to be? haha-
And this year, it seems like its 10:30p, when it's really only 5pm, right?
I don't f***ing know. Maybe I'm just OLD!! Grrrrrrr....
