VIDEO: My Trip to Baxter State Park - A Great Weekend!

It was my third trip up to Millinocket ME to spend 3 days in Baxter State Park.

I camped there alone on Friday- and then was joined by my buddy Scott on Saturday afternoon, and I stayed till Monday.

It's such a great place to hike, and just kind of catch your breath. It's not like most campgrounds (thank god). It's quiet - and the rules are pretty strict. That's because they want it to be a nature experience for everyone that goes there. There is no electricity or cell service. If you play music on your site, it can't be hearable by anyone near your site. The park closes at 10p, so once you're in, you're in for the night.

I've come to really look forward to this trip each year because it gives me a chance to decompress, AND - get in some pretty cool photography.

So here's a few shots I got there- and a video I put together of the weekend - hope you like it -

First, an early morning shot of Mt Katahdin and Knife Edge- with a full moon having over it.

The smoke, believe it or not- is from the wildfires that are apparently still burning in Canada.

Next is a pic my buddy Scott took of me photographing the Milky Way on Kidney Pond -

And here's a sunset shot from the other side of Katahdin - along with a trail and a breakfast pic -

A little oatmeal and coffee made at the camp site after 4 hours of shooting that began at 5am!

Oh, and if you're out shooting or hiking before or after sunrise or sundown- you gotta have a headlight -

So heres a video of the weekend - or at least some of it-

Hope you like it -
