I hold nothing against Tom Brady or Rob Gronkowski for leaving the New England Patriots for the Tampa Bay Bucs.
Matter of fact- I wouldn't have minded if he went to any other team in the NFL - except 2.
- The New York Jets. That would have pissed me off royally, mostly because of the inter conference rivalry we have with them.
The only other team that would have really shocked me - and REALLY pissed me off - is
2. The Los Angeles Raiders. I have despised this team since the days of Kenny Stabler and Fred Balitnikoff. Well, I didn't hate them because of those players, hell - Stabler - the QB called "The Snake" - was a pretty cool guy to watch. And Freddie was fun to watch too! But I hated them because growing up, there was no dirtier team to play that the raiders.
Jack Tatum was a Raider- and he paralyzed Pats reciever Daryl Stingley - and never even apologized for what many thought was a bad hit. It wasnt an illegal hit at the time- but he rocked the guy while he was stretched out trying to catch a pass
They - to me - have always been the ONE team I want everyone else to BEAT.
Badly. Funny how you hold on to shit like that when it comes to sports, huh?
BUT ANYWAY -
It came out this weekend that when Tom Brady left the Patriots- a deal was agreed upon that would have put him in a RAIDERS uniform - with Gronk in tow. It was almost a done deal - set up by DANA WHITE from the UFC.
White told the story over the weekend- and he claimed that the deal was done- and the person who kiboshed the whole thing? Raiders Coach John Gruden. Brady had gone so far as to check out houses in LA!
And if you're thinking that Dana is in full on self promotion mode (as promoters usually are) - Gronk backed up the story, saying "That's absolutely the way it happened!"
HOLY CRAP! Im tell you right now - that if Brady left here to sign with the Evil Empire- My head would have exploded. And y'all know I GOT A HUGE HEAD - so that would have done some friggin damage!!!
Thank goodness for small miracles - cuz you can go to any team you want, I don't care. You go to The Raiders- and you're DEAD to me, bruh...
