I got the news of Taylor Hawkins death at about 5am as I was headed out to shoot a sunrise. And it was that strange feeling we've all had before when we find out about the premature death of someone who's music we've loved. Taylor Hawkins was an incredible, high powered drummer that fueled The Foo Fighters. I mean, seriously- you HAD to be a badass drummer to be picked by Dave Grohl, right?
Later that morning- I saw this footage from The Foo's performance at Lollapalooza in Argentina - in what is being reported as the last show Taylor performed. So here's a couple tunes from that show- including Taylor singing lead on Queen's "Somebody to Love".
Our deepest condolences are with his family, Dave and the band- and all the Foo fans who will miss him...
