It was a pretty big weekend for my family. Our best friend's son got married up at Sugarloaf - and the weekend was excellent. Dave and Jolene's son Collin finally (after being delayed a year due to Covid) married his beautiful wife Cathy. It was a huge weekend for our whole family because our two families are very tight. We love their kids like they were our own, and vice versa. The weather there was PERFECT for an outdoor wedding, and it was the first gathering of a large group (160+) that was totally maskless. It was amazing how "normal" it felt. It was such a CELEBRATION, not only for Collin & Cathy, but for people to be able to be TOGETHER again, and have a night where Covid never even entered our minds!
It was a beautiful night, a great party of a reception, and some long overdue dancing- and yes- drinking- haha
Here's my son and I at the bar.....
And us about 30 seconds later-
Jamesons.
BOOM.
(and I barely even winced after I drank it!) - hahah -
And the obligatory - "Hey, we're all dressed up!" Family pic -
And you know I took the early morning opportunity to go look for wildlife with the camera- but only came up with this -
She was beautiful.
And the morning after the wedding, Valerie and I relaxed out on "the beach" at Sugarloaf- and had the slopes all to ourselves!
And then it was off to Eustis for an overnight at our friends Dave and Jolene's camp.
And let me tell you - there is nothing better than this -
Camp Coffee. Made with an old fashioned percolator. Man, there's just something special about the taste of percolated coffee (Carrabassett Valley's "Jamaican Me Crazy" blend, in case you're wondering. Solid coffee)
Another perfect start to the day -
For us, it was a long awaited and emotional weekend. A true celebration of life - not just because of the wedding, but also because after this last year- it felt good to be free again.
We all had a blast.
Hope you had a good one too -
