'Leaning Tower of Dallas' Still Standing After Planned Demolition

After receiving disappointing news that the "Leaning Tower of Dallas" was to be demolished on Monday, residents who turned out to watch the Internet sensation's collapse were left disappointed again. Despite being subjected to a wrecking ball's wrath all day, the 11-story Affiliated Computer Services building remained standing when the demolish crew called it quits. Witnesses say it appeared the wrecking ball used by the company was too small to do any real damage. Onlooker Diane Gruber says it "kinda just tapped the building a few times and didn't do anything." A rep for the company now says it will take "days" to tear down the structure. It's not the first time the company made a failed attempt to demolish the building. After an attempt last week left the structure leaning to one side, it became a viral sensation and popular spot for people to take selfies. Despite a plea from residents to leave it standing as a tourist attraction, Dallas officials deemed it unsafe and ordered the planned demolition to proceed. Had the city given in, could the Leaning Tower of Dallas have someday rivaled the fame of the Leaning Tower of Pisa?
