When a can of Raid didn't do the trick at destroying a hornet's nest, Dave Schmida decided he needed something with a little more firepower. So the Sturbridge resident grabbed a Roman candle, aiming several shots at the flying insects living under his roof, which immediately went up in flames, he tells the Telegram Gazette.
Schmida says the house only sustained minor damage, joking, "I did get rid of the bees, so I would say mission accomplished."
