That driver was Sophia Floersch.
Floersch is only 17 and thankfully survived the crash.
And in fact, just hours after her death-defying moment, she was tweeting she was “fine” and thanking those supporting and caring for her.
“Just wanted to let everybody know that I am fine but will be going into Surgery tomorow [sic] morning. Thanks to the @fia and @hwaag_official @MercedesAMGF1 who are taking great care of me.Thanks to everybody for the Supporting messages,” she wrote. “Update soon.”
