A Swimwear Brand Got Slammed for a Rosa Parks-Inspired Bikini

When you think of the civil rights movement, what's the first thing you think of? If somehow it's "BEACHWEAR," I guess this product is for you: A swimwear brand's Rosa Parks-inspired BIKINI is making waves online.

The brand is Divino Seas, based in Guatemala. Someone posted a shot of the product page and people went nuts . . . not in a good way.

Rosa became a civil rights icon after she was arrested in Alabama in 1955 for refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a bus. So . . . not really known for beach fashion.

Other than calling it the "Rosa", there aren't actually any nods to her. The product description is vague and doesn't actually say HOW it's a tribute.

The top and bottom are sold separately and retail for $162 total, but they were on sale for half that. And as of last night, the tops were sold out.

Not sure if this makes it better or worse, but the same company also has bikinis named after other groundbreaking women from history. There's a hot little number called the "Eleanor", inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt.
