My Weekend: Photography, Dogs, A Kelly Brown Sighting, Brews & More

Well Ok then! THAT'S more like it, right? We got two pretty good days of sunshine in a row - ON A WEEKEND!

It started Friday night with the Brew Tour - I think we're nearing 60 different brewery's since we started a year ago! And this weekend - we walked into THIS place...

Ummm.....this looks like the kind of place they film horror movies in, right?

But then we knew we were on the right track -

Ladies and Gentleman- welcome to Liquid Question Brewing Company in Portsmouth NH! That's one of the cool things about all these local craft brewers, they put em in places you'd never expect!

Since I'm a lightweight when it comes to beer- I stuck with the Shimmer, and it was very good! From there we shot over to the Bratskellar to grab a bite to eat- and lo and behold -

Kelly Brown was in da house!!! Dude was working his ass off, too! Always great to visit The Brat. Oh, AND Kelly.

Next, it was over to Tokens Tap Room in Dover for a little throwback video games!

Valerie was thrilled - because- SHE GOT CARDED!

Had a blast playing Galaga, pinball (Iron Maiden!) and more!

I was up and out at 430am on Saturday to see what Mother Nature had in store. Went to New Castle for what seemed like another uneventful sunrise thanks to the clouds - but suddenly things developed!

Big sky feel, right there. And then I checked out one of the eagles nests I have permission to visit - and after a short wait- 2 of them showed up!

Later, Valerie and I made our first visit to a Dog Rescue open house. This was our first time even looking at dogs since we lost Molly last year. We didn't pre register, so we just showed up at the place in Andover MA and checked out the dogs, and took an application for Sweet Paws Dog Rescue. How weird is this?

We walk into the place- and the first dog we see?

A sweet little pup that looks EXACTLY like Molly!!! I'd be lying if I said my eyes were not misty! How weird is that? Right? I know some of you will think this is ridiculous- but it felt to me like a kind of cool message that it was ok to move on and get a new pup. We stayed for about an hour and played with the pups - and I s*** you not - I could have taken home a couple of em they were so damn cute! The important thing is- we're now looking. And even though some organizations application process is utterly ridiculous - we're definitely going to adopt a rescue.

And last but not least- Sunday morning I was up at 430a to go hit the beach in Ogunquit and work the high tide of Little Beach, which sits along Marginal Way.

But before I went out, I was sitting in the truck, with the ocean about 20 yards out my driver window- thinking about how important being able to go out with the camera and do what I do.

What started as a "hobby" has become a necessity. It is so because for me- it's a form of therapy. It's my way of getting away from a busy life, the commotion, and the noise - and just recharging the batteries in a quiet setting. And when I was thinking about it, I recorded this message for anyone who needs to hear it-

And that's where I leave it...

Hope you all had a good weekend-
